Welcome to week 4 of my
weight loss Kaizen. I've lost another 2.5 lbs of Inventory. Yes, I'm now looking at my weight as inventory and as I've reduced my inventory I found some great benefits!
My decrease in inventory has given me greater flexibility.
Having an active 2 yr old means being on the go. By decreasing my weight I'm able to be on the floor with her more often and be much more active. I literally am more flexible which is important when I'm doing a lot of bending and reaching. Let's be honest "I'm a little teapot short and stout" can take its toll on the human body after 56 encore performances.
My health care costs will hopefully be decreasing.
Being big means insurance costs more. By lowering my weight I'll no longer be "charged extra" for health insurance or life insurance. In addition I'm hoping for some good news this week. With any luck I'll no longer have borderline high cholesterol which means no more pills.
I don't think I'll ever look at my weight in the same way again. To me it will always be about too much Inventory. I plan to continue implementing Lean in my life so my body and mind will stay lean and healthy as well.
